Scope of these terms

By using BrutoLíquido (“the website”) you accept these terms of use in full. If you disagree with any part of them, please do not use the website. The operator may amend these terms at any time; changes take effect when they are published on this page.

What BrutoLíquido is

BrutoLíquido is a free, purely informational online tool. It provides a net-pay calculator for Portugal — estimating the approximate monthly net from a gross salary after the employee’s social-security contribution and the IRS withheld at source — together with explainer pages on the withholding tables, the fourteen-payment structure and the minimum wage. The website is not registered as a provider of financial, accounting or legal services.

The calculators run on rates that follow the official sources cited on each page (as at agosto 2026); they are not official rate tables. Their sole purpose is to make clear how a Portuguese payslip is built and how the tool works.

What BrutoLíquido is not

BrutoLíquido does not replace advice from an accountant or tax adviser, nor a ruling from the Autoridade Tributária.

In particular, the website is not:

• an official tool of the Autoridade Tributária or any other public body,
• an accounting or payroll service,
• a source of legal or tax advice,
• a guarantee of accuracy in your particular situation.

For binding calculations and your annual IRS return, please turn to the Autoridade Tributária or to a qualified accountant or tax adviser.

Sources, and the limits on these figures

The rates used here follow the official sources cited on each page — the Diário da República, Segurança Social and the INE. They are not official rate tables: if a rule changed recently it may not be reflected here yet, and none of these values has been through our final sign-off. No model declares a rate correct on its own — for a binding calculation the cited source or the responsible authority governs.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the website in accordance with applicable law, and in particular not to:

• access, or attempt to access, non-public parts of the website,
• use automated scripts, bots or scrapers that load the server or disrupt the normal operation of the website,
• reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit the calculators and content without prior consent,
• use the website in a way that could harm other users or third parties.

Disclaimer of liability

The website is provided “as is”, without any express or implied warranty as to the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of the information. Precisely because the results are estimates, they may differ from your actual payslip; tax and employment rules also change, and individual situations require a separate assessment that a general calculator cannot capture.

You use the website at your own risk. The operator is not liable for direct, indirect or consequential damage arising from the use or unavailability of the website, nor for decisions taken on the basis of its results.

Before any significant financial decision — signing an employment contract, moving to Portugal, or filing your tax return — we recommend advice from a qualified accountant or tax adviser.

Intellectual property

All content on the website (text, calculators, graphics, methodology) is protected by copyright and other applicable intellectual-property rights. Personal, non-commercial use is permitted without special consent.

Any commercial use, embedding of the calculators in another website, or bulk extraction of content requires prior written consent. To request it, contact us at info@desymphony.com.

Advertising and third-party content

The website shows no third-party advertising. It sets no advertising or analytics cookies — Google Analytics 4, already active on every page to measure traffic, runs in cookieless mode. In future the website may start to display third-party advertising or partner links; such content will be clearly marked as advertising. The operator does not control the content of third-party advertising and is not liable for its accuracy or reliability. Details on data protection are in the privacy policy and the cookie policy.

Links to third-party websites

The website may contain links to external websites (for example the Autoridade Tributária, the Segurança Social, or the national statistics institute). The operator does not control the content of external websites and takes no responsibility for their terms, privacy practices or availability.

Changes to these terms

The operator may amend these terms at any time. Material changes are marked with the date of the last update and, where useful, announced with a notice on the website. By continuing to use the website after a change, you confirm your acceptance of the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. The parties will first try to resolve any dispute arising from use of the website amicably; failing that, the competent courts have jurisdiction, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
